Hi Friends,
I am a trekker and recently I trekked a mountain and observed a strange phenomenon.
A female dog followed us till she got petting.
Can someone check and tell me the cause behind this?
I captured the moment in this video, have a look.

Thankyou for the answer...I had an intuition that she wanted to express something to us. Because we were trekking on a mountain named Ghoradeshwar and it is a very lonely place. I thought might be because of this loneliness the dog felt excited to see us around...We fed her with some fruits we carried ...

Well that's nice of you, I suspect that, like the indigenous people, the animals rely on tourism as well. I'm sure she was pleased to see a human! It's sad to think that she is of the same intelligence as my very own much loved and slightly fat dog, but leads a very different life.

Thank-you for the reply, but I think there are no stray dogs in Scotland, correct me if I am wrong..Yes, you are right this dog looked pretty weak to us too but she was very lovable and her eyes were quite expressive...If you check the video carefully she lifts her heads up while I was petting her. This is a general sign that she is devoid of love and affection in that region which she deserves...This video has been taken in Ghoradeshwar Mountain back in Maharashtra India. This region has many mountains and is very lonely place, take a look of the underlying video to get a look and feel of the place.

No, there are stray dogs in Scotland. It's just that there are also facilities in place which deal with them (sometimes sadly leading to their deaths but even death is sometimes a better fate than being left to starve on a mountain).
Oh it is?In that case what breed of stray dogs are found in Scotland. For E.G. : In India we have Pariah breed predominately found as stray dogs. In US we have Pitbulls as stray dogs but I didn't ever got to know about stray breeds found in Scotland. Please let me know as I am always curious about enhancing my knowledge about dogs in every aspect.
Also I am not very sure if you got a chance to look at the Pariah breed of dog which I have posted in the above videos. These breeds were also exported to Australia and were known as Dingo.

Oh my goodness, I must appreciate the point you mentioned above. Yes indeed she had pup as I noticed one cute pup [may be few weeks old] was kind of circling around her. I am sure the pup belonged to her as She moved along with that pup after a while.

But I truly wonder how could you so accurately predict this fact.Just amazing!!!

Her condition was also considerable, thought she looked hungry. And yes not to mention she was very friendly to the trekkers....

Her mammary glands appear somewhat enlarged. Was there just one puppy?
There was one brown puppy but was looking very healthy indeed. Have you read any books about body language in dogs? If so please suggest as I will be interested to know more on this since you caught the symptom very well just by watching the clip itself. Good catch I must say..

I'd rather not look at the videos thanks. They look depressing.

I doubt it's a particularly breed that strays in Scotland, just the same as the rest of the UK - dogs that people don't want any more or have lost.

Not sure the origin of Dingoes is correct - no-one seems to know absolutely - https://australianmuseum.net.au/dingo
I agree that in Scotland as in the rest of The UK there are stray Dogs that People don't wan't or are lost.I don't believe that the UK has many thou' and as in a previous comment We in Scotland have the SSPCA and in England RSPCA. In addition I support The Dogs Trust that say They will never put a healthy Dog down.

Thankyou Kristy for being so informative. Dear Friends, I want to ask a bit silly question but this question may have deep meaning if you believe the concept of Reincarnation. I watched a movie of the 90's named Fluke where a rich business man dies off a car accident while racing with his counterpart and business partner.Henceforth after his death he leaves behind his 8 yrs old son and wife behind. He reincarnates as a dog named fluke and remembers his past life and comes back to his family after a lot of struggle. He tries to convey his wife and son that he has reincarnated but none of then would understand as being a dog he wouldnt have enough skills to communicate like we humans and in the end he gives up and leaves his family forever. So my question is do the animals[say dogs] who try to communicate with us also pass us a special message that they were also reincarnated ? I know this is a weird question but see how the dog tries to convince me whether she is a stray dog[2nd video] or my pet one.[3rd video]

FLUKE Movie : (4:40 onwards watch and see )
