Hi everyone hope you are all well! I'm curious as to what you all use with regards to flea and worm treatment? Bramble is about due for both again and was wondering if there is anything on the market cheaper than the vets? Brambles only ever had drontol and advocate up till now, but it's costly, so thought I would ask you lovely people!
Thank you in advance x pic for effect ha ha she is watching the apprentice!
Sorry, i don't use cheaper products on my cats.
I use from the vet Bravecto flea treatment, but it does last 12 weeks, so saves me doing them every month.
Cost wise is £29.

With worming i use Drontal tablets.
Thank you, I am a little sceptical when it comes to shop bought, but with bramble being my first cat, I just wanted to see what you more experienced people used ha ha
@andrea84 have you considered that maybe you do not need to use those products continuously?
My approach over many years has been not to use strong chemicals unless needed and as such I hardly ever use either flea or worm products.
I do try and spray the house once a year with Indorex to protect against flea infestation but would only use Advantage on the cats if they gave me cause to believe we had fleas in the house.
I don't routinely worm either, but if a cat were off colour or showing change in bowel movements I might use Drontal then or get vet to give a Milbemax if we are having a check up.
Oh and don't get me started on yearly vaccines.......

Completely agree. I do keep more on top of worming as my cat does eat the odd mouse. In her 19 years she's not had a vaccination (Admittedly I might not go to this extreme if I get another). My dog does however get boosters as he goes into kennels occasionally. The greater benefit is the yearly checkup it encourages you to do, discussing minor issues that I don't feel are so worrisome to book a vet visit for.
My cat has drontal and advocate and annual vaccinations which I pay for monthly £9.99 per month which covers everything. The scheme is from Vets for Pets (in Pets at Home). I think it's good value.

We use stronghold and milbemax from the vet. I don't I give it to them quite as often as recommended. More like every 3-4 months.
