Does anyone here have one?

Just saw one on FB and couldn't believe how beautiful it was. I don't know much about the breed but wouldn't say no if one needed a home.

Hi there I have a Snow Bengal and he is gorgeous and very sweet.

I would say if you are interested go to a very reputable breeder. Do not be tempted to buy one on the cheap. A Bengal health screened, socialised properly, vaccinated etc could set you back around £600 which I think is money well spent.

You need to research the Breed thoroughly before you go ahead with purchase. They are prone to various health conditions but so are many other pedigree breeds.

For instance Burmese are prone to diabetes and my old Burmese passed away last Boxing day with complications resulting from this.

They do look beautiful but can be demanding. Mine follows me around everywhere and talks and chirrups away to me non-stop. He cries like a baby too when he wants feeding :)

Bengals can also be very energetic. They love to climb so a cat tree it a must and some people even have shelving put around their walls for their cat to climb.

These as well as others are desirable traits to me but to other people it may come as a bit of a shock so make sure you are certain before you commit.

PS - Remember that Bengals are bred from a wild cat (Asian Leopard Cat) so do not be tempted to buy one of the earlier generation of cats. Anything over F4 should be fine.

I used to breed them :) They are mental, 24-7 mental non stop vocal little sods :prrr:

You can get seal mink, which is a green eye snow Bengal, or a seal lynx which is the blue eye.

If you get one you Must make sure the parents are HCM scanned, PKDEF tested, and reared properly, vital to have well socialised bengals. They can be dominant and push boundaries and your patients.

But all of my kittens were big lap cats, followed me everywhere loves cuddles and lap hogging. :001_wub: Gorgeous cats... not for everyone :)

Thank you Bengalmum and Taylorbaby, ive always been fascinated by Bengals but had herd they can be a bit aggressive if not socialised correctly. I think they are beautiful animals.

Unfortunately im in no position to get another cat at the moment but its all useful info encase im able to one day. I lost my cat back in may and keep looking at cats for adoption and torturing myself!

I miss having one around the house.

The one I saw on FB had really lovely markings with Blue eyes, the owner said they hand reared her from day one the litter was a week prem and the mother killed the rest. Very sad.

Not really sure I like the sound of the kitten which was hand reared.

I know you are not looking at buying now but you want a kitten that was born healthy, reared by mum, no health problems and well socialised too.

Could be asking for trouble with the one on FB.
