Which is the cheapest and best for raw suppliers that deliver ?? To the Swindon area I cannot get to the meat market until I start driving so will be needing to buy some minces and chicks for the dog and the cat :)

I'm sure you know, but remember for cats you need to add extra taurine if you are feeding them home made raw, or raw meant for dogs :)

Not sure if you can get home deliveries from any suppliers where you live, I can only get deliveries by couriers and it comes at a cost.

Cheapest courier charge that I know of is from Nurturing by Nature at £6.98 for 20kg but their minces seem to be more expensive.

Manifold Valley Meats have a good range and their minces are average price (cheaper than NBN) but last time the courier charge to me was £10 (same as their van price it seems). They do monthly offers which might have what you need at the time.

Of the DAF suppliers I really rate Raw2Paw for customer service and the variety of manufacturers as well as products. Their DAF minces are well priced and their courier delivery is £8.95 for 20kg.

I don't know about any of the others in the suppliers list so it might be worth a look to see if any are near you.

I bought taurine powder for my cat but he is now fed on Nutriment which is a complete raw food.
I feed Cian home made raw, but the cats are fed a complete raw :)

So what shop do feral cats get taurine supplements from?
I wasn't aware Feral cats had mincing machines in their pockets. OH wait cats don't have pockets and neither do they hunt mince? Anything constructive to add?

Not my fault you are providing potentially incorrect information is it? Additional taurine isn't necessary for a raw cat's diet if done correctly as proved by the fact they survive in the wild. Research is required though.

OP asked for mince suppliers, as I'm said, I'm sure they are aware, if feeding mince they will need to add additional taurine.

Again do feral cats hunt mince? If not then it's not relevant is it?

You specifically said feeding them "home made raw, or raw meant for dogs" rather than mince ;) Home made raw is not exclusively mince, in fact for the majority of people, mince is not desired as the cleaning action of chewing is an important part. I can only respond to information which you yourself write. What's most important, as it is with any raw feeding be it cats or dogs is research.

I am trying to work out if its cheaper to diy or get mince for the cat the dog eats ribs wings the lot but the cat not so keen on wing tips she prefers soft mushy meat . The chicks are for both see if the cat will eat them I know honey will :)
I mix a little bit of tinned fish in with the cats raw and she loves it she just doesn't do bones yet but she is only 8 weeks old

Feeding cats raw isn't as "easy" as feeding dogs raw, there are some great threads on the cat forum for it, cats can not produce their own taurine like dogs, so it's so important they get enough in their food, it will be A LOT more expensive to buy complete raw cat food than it will be to DIY but while it's really important to heavy research both, it's so important to make sure cats are getting their taurine it can be fatal for them if they don't and most minces don't provide it...

Yes I have been reading up on everything I can and at the moment she is still having some dry kitten food as have only had her a week and switching her slowly to raw so far she is tolerating it well .. I have read that some meats are high in taurine and you don't need to add more unless you cook the meat which removes the taurine and I have also read that I have to give extra taurine so I still have a bit of research to do !! I do know a farmer whos farm cats only eat mice and they are really old and they haven't had taurine :confused5: guess I will keep on looking

I had Bear on DIY raw for a while but he went very picky and I was worried he wasn't getting everything - as he wouldn't eat offal etc. So I put him on Nutriment and hes been on it a month and loves it :)

Dog is DIY as she eats anything - except fish, but she gets salmon oil

I believe organs such as heart are high in taurine.
