I'm ill

Dear friends, I have to relate some tragic news, Springerpete is at deaths door, the grim reaper is hastening up the path as I type,. which is in itself proving a task almost beyond me. I have a temperature, probably of about 110 degrees, parts of my body have already ceased to function and my hair hurts. I've obviously contracted some hideous disease previously unknown to medical science, a form of plague would be my best guess but I can't be sure.
I did manage to drag myself out to take the lads for a walk where God in his infinite mercy decided to send down a deluge of biblical proportions just to cool my fevered brow, it was, I have to say, to no avail, my fever is such that I simply started to steam.
The Lady Rose is, as expected, of no use whatsoever, even with the wealth of medical knowhow she has at her fingertips, her only diagnoses amounts to. '
'' You've got a cold, stop whining and take a beechams powder.''
She'll live to regret this attitude should she wake up in the morning to find that my rocketing temp' has caused me to melt during the night. Cold?? I ask you, what sort of caring nurse dismisses someones' suffering in such an offhand manner, I might instigate moves to have her struck off the nursing register...

Awww Pete, that is so sad, being ill is horrible and I know what you mean by hair hurting!
That is where my sympathy will fade, sorry, my OH has had manflu for two weeks now and my patience has worn very thin (actually my patience ran out after the first two hours or so when he was talking to a work colleague normally but a minute later spoke to me in a really bunged up kind of voice).
If the beechams isn't working then try a malt and honey as it tastes much better :D

Oh dear poor Pete but I'm sorry but I'm with the good Lady Rose a dose of Beechams or a stiff malt and honey will do you the world of good you're not going to die from manflu. Then get yourself wrapped up warm and get the boys out for a walk you'll feel much better.

Cripes Pete, you best stay on the settee until it passes
Be careful what you say to the lady Rose though for she is sure to give her a taste of medicine if you whine too much

I've got the malt, but I'm damned if I'm going to spoil it with honey, that's a crime that ranks alongside treason. I thought you lot would side with that heartless creature who calls herself my wife..

Oh sorry but I think you will need to find the male members on here to get any sympathy.

I moan and groan and make everyone live my cold, it's the reason they exist. I also pile up the snotty tissues so everyone knows that I am properly ill. Indulge yourself and do be careful not to pass to Lady Rose as you'll be on nurse duty too :D Get well soon!
