Aside from the amusement, it gets my brain working, as I really have to think or I can't remember the names of any films :D

Strange reaction from a butcher, mine is brill and phones me when he has excess of stuff. He also supplies a woman I know who races her dogs and has around fifteen, so we share. he's a good old fashioned old bloke so most likely goes back to when all our dogs were raw fed butchers scraps.
Keep the book in your bag - I did to try and convert people! Have stopped being such a bully now though but it's so nice when i'm in the butchers and someone else comes in for raw for their dog - I feel like giving them a hug, weird woman that I am, lol!

When I first started I used to get the same comments and you can't blame people for being sceptical about raw chicken bones, after all cooked ones have been killing dogs for years and all people think of is chicken bones, not if they are cooked or not. I printed out a sheet about barf feeding, kept it with me and just showed people that - funny how when it's in print and from an official site how people change their minds and don't think it's just you and a few mad friends who've come up with the idea - also had Toms book with me at times too. Silly the extremes i'll go to to prove raw is good for dogs, lol!

Thanks for the rep xx Have added a little more info that I found useful when starting out. Just remember, many people feed Bakers to their dogs all their lives so what you're doing by learning what raw to feed will only do your girl good and you'll soon have it balanced and be giving a variety of meats. Don't give up, it's so worth it.

I know how confusing and scary it is to start with :) Hope you get on well with the book. I enjoyed it

Hi, I'm sure the problem is mine, because I've always trained working gun dogs the thought of complicating the training regime with things that are going to be of no use to them during their working life is too much of an ask. I do know that lots of folk and their dogs gain a lot of fun from learning new tricks, andas long as the dog enjoys it then that' great.

Thanks for the 'Like' I did think people might think that I was being sarcastic regarding teaching 'tricks' I wasn't, although I do find it a little weird that anyone would want to spend hours teaching a dog to do things that are completely alien to its' nature.
It's perhaps, although I absolutely love my dogs, I do expect them to work for me, allbeit at something that is in their nature to do.
      Cheers Pete.

    Hello, my name is Lilly.
I live in a small town with my OH and two dogs, Purdy, a Border Collie cross, and Kaiser, a Japanese Akita.

I like the simple things in life.
My friends and family mean the world to me, and my dogs are included in the "family" category. They're just incredible to me. I don't know what I would do without them.

I'm a big breed kind of girl, as I've grown up with GSD's, Husky's and the like.
Both of my current dogs are rescues. Every dog deserves a second chance.

My life isn't perfect, but that's the beauty of it.
I'm just trying to be happy.

My daily hobbies change, well, daily...

My goal in life is to be as good of a person my dog already thinks I am.
