Thank you, I would love to come over for a week, not just yet as hubby is getting over from a hip replacement. We have two rotties..But would help out to rescue a young rottie if needed. Please keep in touch with the wonderful work you do

P.S. I think I've accepted the friend's request but it's still up there on my Notifications. Not too good with these forums lol

Hi, Our centre takes in everything and we rehome up in the northern countries as we have a real problem finding suitable local people to adopt dogs. The lady who runs the place has been doing it for 10 years and so has a lot of contacts in this world of rescue.
My idea to get help (again, no locals help out unfortunately) was to offer super cheap breaks (house and transport for the week to see the sights round this gorgeous part of Spain, all for 100 euros to cover costs) and to spend the afternoons walking and fussing the dogs. Basically a chance to get down here for folks who would like a different sort of holiday. I've been blown away by the interest from as far afield as Australia! Cheers

I didnt reply on the thread as i didnt think it was appropriate.
We lost a Bernese to throat cancer 2yrs ago.He was 8yrs old.
Symptoms were loss of appetite, weight loss for a few days and then coughing up blood.I could feel a lump deep in his throat.Op to remove it and it had invaded his tonsils as well so they were removed. It was a basal cell carcenoma. It returned 6mnths later, another op to remove but it had already spread and we only had another 8weeks with Galen before it started to affect his breathing and we had to let him go.
Hope this is of some help.

      Thank you!

How old are yours? Have you had them from pups? Roxy is 3 1/2 and we rescued her in November 2011. She's not been without her challenges, but I guess that's to be expected with a rescue dog that has suffered physical and mental abuse. :0(

She's come on leaps and bounds though and we wouldn't be without her!
