Hello there, not been online for a while so thought I would say a quick hello :)

Rob, i got the [sketchy] details from Nicky-10 -
it seems Eros was trying to save a dying cat, who died anyway while in her care.
she was being criticized severely by other forum members, some of whom texted her repeatedly at home. She decided she couldn't cope, quit PF-uk, & took her personal drama with her.
sadly when she departed, probly without a single thought for the group, it was deleted; most likely automatically, POOF. :nonod: drabbit.

Eroswoof is gone from the Forum?
and so is the group. Was she banned? i'm confused.

yes, i saw the one about the calf - but i think of wrist-leading & herding as 2 different behaviors, one is a single behavior, the other [herding] is a suite or set.
i have seen both in the same dog, i have also seen one [wrist-gene] without a trace of the other, & no breed-type to account for any latent tendencies. :)

that's the despair of most men: wimmen recalling the details of emotional events, while they retain only the highlights. :D

Thanks for the rep. I haven't been anywhere, just busy. I had to go back to work part time as I couldn't afford Joshua's medicines - they are really expensive and he is not improving. Bought a magnetic collar today, so we'll see how that goes.

i think they'll probly want PF-uk mods to police it, which is fine SO LONG As they actually moderate, vs spectate as things come to a crashing halt. :nono:

& i'd be happy with a literal ban on the words, prong, shock, choke, chain, & slip-collar, plus a stipulation that slip-leads must be gundog style: fat & round, not skinny polyprop or nylon, not thin flat ribbons, etc.

i don't see why someone must say, 'our new house has an invisible fence, can we use something other than a shock-collar to confine our dog?'...
when 'our new house has a buried wireless-fence, but we don't want to use it... How can we humanely confine our dog?', would do the same thing.

counting the ratio of one poster's replies to a single thread is illuminating.
not necessarily in a good way.

LMD_WW was / is banned, which explains the silence from that quarter.
i have no idea why or when - i was looking for when s/he/they began posting,
& stumbled over the banned status.

      to clarify -
i can make an educated-guess re Why, but haven't a clue about proximal cause.
i expect LMD_WW said something rude or hostile again, but that's presumption.

yeah, it looks that way. I have to censor myself - So that i don't offend THEM?
 ye gods. Meanwhile, a brilliant opportunity to make k9-training humane is being buried. bloody asinine!

thanks for the blip :nonod: but i'm feeling REALLY downhearted.
a moderator just accused me of posting the book-announcement [k9-training] only to p*ss people off - Gee, thanks.
talk about totally missing the point! i could cry.

For eager & reliable recall, be fun for the dog to come back to! Then often send them off right away to do what they wanted!
DT&B - Glossary of acronyms & jargon terms.
Encouraging good behaviours, whilst consistently avoiding practise of bad alternatives leads to extinction of the bad. So if dog sits 6/10 times it doesn't sit 4/10 times, encouraging with the right rewards (positively-reinforcing) enough for 9/10 times means it now fails to sit only 1/10 times, sit 10/10 means...
