Uh-oh. Usual intolerant signs have started up. After firming up nicely yesterday started soft with mucous (huge intolerance indication) and ended up practically liquid in the evening. Rice is off the menu, so unfortunately so is food from the Natural Dog Food Company :(.

      On to porridge oats instead!

Yes just like me!! I was totally convinced Leafy was intolerant to all cereal including rice plus chicken, turkey and lamb. I was very sceptical and almost fearful of following Alan's suggestions and was expecting days and days of chronic diarrheoa but here we are 4 months later and she's doing really well. I'm in the process of changing my almost 14 yr old onto the Senior as well because I believe its a better food than the Arden Grange Senior, juding by Leafy's shining coat and general demeanour.

I'm pleased you have made contact. I had to feed Leafy brown rice and chicken for a week before starting on the Senior. Alan was very clear and explicit in his instructions and, as you say, is very confident in his products. He listened very carefully to Leafy's problems and on his recommendations she now alternates between a 15kg bag of Senior turkey and rice and then Adult Sensitive Salmon so that she doesn't build up an intolerance, which I thought was clever thinking.

I hope it works for your GSD.

Leafy's food allergy has been a huge worry over the last 7 years and an enormous expense. The visit to Cambridge Vet College cost £800 and the specialist I saw was absolutely useless. I think I knew more about diarrheoa than she did...!!
