On checking it also seems to play a role in the skin, bones and cardio vascular system
so I would imagine that a small amount would be beneficial to be honest.

If he hasn't had a test to monitor his levels in a good while its probably due anyway, especially if they have upped the dosage. It could be that, where hypo thyroid they get lethargic and more sluggish, with hyper they go the other way and can be unsettled and active. Hopefully it is just that and will easily be sorted.

If he hasn't had a monitoring blood test for awhile either it certainly wouldn't hurt.

Could be just that his stabalised now and could do with a lower dose, Nanuq started on a 0.8 for example and now shes stabalised on a 0.5 so its not unusual to need a lower dose later on, or you have to adjust the dose here and there at times.

Sorry forgot something, you also need to make sure the bloods are taken about 6 hours post pill too when they have there monitoring tests done, not sure if that's something you do at the moment but if not you should.

Part 2, sorry not sure how much space on VMs. You could do a test, see if what he is doing is worse, 4/6 hours after he takes his pill, and how long it lasts for. Hope this makes sense?

Worth getting him checked to make sure his not having too much soloxine, they can be hyper if it goes too high also. With most of mine over time, in fact all if I remember rightly they have ended up on a lower dose then they started with. What might explain too why its not all the time, is that peak take up is around 6 hours after they take the pill.
After which time the levels start to go down again. It could be that when its at peak if that goes too high that's when you see the problem.

Dogs rarely naturally go hyper thyroid. Its strange by cats usually go hyper and dogs go hypo for some reason. That's probably why there is a lack of information. Is it for chester?
One of the reasons dogs do go hyper is usually because its the soloxines too high. I know one of the signs usually is drinking and urinating excessively and they tend to get diarrhoea. Because its unusual off the top of my head I haven't any links.
