Hi Jan, that's great you'll have to let me know how you get on with him when he arrives. Yes Dexter is a Lynx Point Snow Bengal. I've heard that Bengal's can get on very well with dogs.

Hi Jan, so sorry only just seen this!

I'm a first time Bengal owner so still learning as I go along here. I think all cats have different temperaments and one piece of advice I can give you is to look for a good breeder who socialises their kittens well as Bengal's can be quite timid.

I would probably agree that Bengals (and other similar breeds) do better when they are not the only cat as they do get bored quite easily. Again though it depends on the temperament of the cat and you do mention that you would have lots of time so that may not be an issue.

Dexter is an indoor cat and I wouldn't let him out as he would not last 5 minutes outside! I think the more intelligent breeds can get themselves into all kinds of bother as well as being very beautiful cats who are more prone to being stolen. Dexter shows no interest in going outside by the way.

You could always telephone a good breeder and ask their advice. They are usually very happy to help.
