Hi there Missy! I joined this forum because I googled "senior cat leg amputation" and your post about your gorgeous boy Smedley popped up. First, I am sorry you lost your boy at 21 to kidney failure, it sounds like you gave him a wonderful life, and all the love you could.
So, I have a boy, 18 as well....what they believe is a cancerous tumor on his rt front leg. They suggested amputation, but at 18, I wasn't sure if it was the correct thing to do, he is otherwise healthy albeit, only 6 lbs...He is a miracle boy, a 8yr intestinal cancer survivor (after 10months of chemo), so part of me feels I have already squeezed so many extra years of life out of this little cat. I just don't want to traumatize him...although the vet said they adapt so well...anyway, not sure and saw that you went thru this too...
      Thanks for "listening" :-)

I have let him have it once and he liked it. regards Jen ( and louis the cat)

I just had to tell you, Louie bobs was in my dream last night! I was walking down my road and saw him on the pavement, and was stroking him, he was so affectionate! And I was telling my friend in my dream that his name is louie, and how strange it was that you lived on my road and I never knew! I must be going mad!

I'll assume your cat is a boy, it's just for the prize.

Hi guys In live in West Yorkshire with my hubby and 2 teenage children.I enjoy going to the gym.

I love cats and have always had 1 (or more) in my life.Sadly I had to let my 21yr old Tortie go early this year it broke mine and my daughters heart..My hubby had always said we couldnt have anymore cats but after seeing how devastated we were he agreed to letting us have 1 (which has turned into 3!!)
