Oh that's cool. The dogs really enjoy the agility don't they.
Ah I see. I'm working on reinforcing the chase recall atm. Like I said 9 times out of 10 we are ok. It's just that 10% I've got to sort with my boy.
If it's any consolation, my friends collie who competes in agility can be a bunny chaser too, so it's a pretty common problem I think. :)

Ah ok. With regards to the rabbit chasing yours sounds abit like mine. The dog-secrets.co.uk article has helped me alot and 9/10 times he will leave them but we are really reinforcing it now. You could do some agility in your back garden though. I started off at one club but took a break because I wasn't sure about the club and their methods.I have since found a better club and am pleased with it. In the time in between though, I have friends who do agility and gave me bits of advice and I trained some of the very basic bits of kit. The tunnel (I use a childs play tunnel), basic jumps ( I made some with guidelines on agilitynet), started a bit on weaves and directions (mainly me that still needs the training here not the dog LOL).

With regards to the recall a trainer might be able to give you some advice. I know my local trainer arranges special outdoors sessions with other dogs or no other dogs tailor fitted to you and whatever you are working on. I like APDT trainers as they only use positive reinforcement methods.
I'm sure you'll get the recall sorted, dogs are hard work but so worth it eh? I was talking to a trainer at good citizen who was saying that collies don't tend to end their adolescence until two and a half. Still another 7/8 months for us then! Ahh!

Hi, my boy is 2 in july. Yep we do agility- still learning some of the basics (working on contacts etc) but we love it. He is very fast, it's very often a case of great dog, shame about the handler LOL! We also do KC Good Citizen Awards which are good fun.
      What about you?

Absolutely no problem. :) Glad I could help. I found that chase recall article really usefully myself with my collie boy. I think that website is really good. It's got some of the best training articles on there.
Your girl sounds a sweetie. How old is she?
