Thanks :) The trainer is called Lee Hobbs and he seems very good. I might still come along to the occasional ringcraft - as its a different atmosphere as well. Looking forward to the field hire on Saturday, its 3 acres and obviously fully fenced. Will be nice to work on some recall and other things.

They also do private lessons as I am booked with Sian at the moment in a few weeks time but what with Christmas approaching, unsure if I can spend 60 + pounds in one go :/

Hi, how have you been ? I have booked a field on Saturday with a training place over at Deeping St James outside of Peterborough, it'll be nice for Bigby to have a run without no other dogs except Io. They also said they have a trainer who shows her dog at crufts so she can help with that, so may not need to go to the other ringcraft but we shall see.

Io and Bigby have the odd spat, but it lasts about 2 seconds and they're more yelling.. but Bigby and Io were both very fearful of this dog. Wasn't nice seeing Bigby getting pushed about.

Thanks, everyone is OK thank you :) I was a little shaken up but the dogs were soon fine and back to enjoying their walk again. Hope you, Cash, Ty and Missy are all okay :)

Missy and Ty will go on for ages and ages and ages :) I like to think that mine will live forever :) Yeah I really would love another smooth next, a boy for sure and a blue merle as the sables don't really do it for me.. though Bigby's 3 sable brothers are all gorgeous! But def no more dogs until atleast 2017.. perhaps even 2018 as don't want too many near ages

Oh I'd love a Bigby baby as they'd be tri and merle and I'd love a blue merle male BUT thinking realisticly next year is far too soon as Bigby would only be 1 and Io almost 3, so perhaps in 2017 instead :) his breeder may use him for stud so may get a pup from her instead :) I'm happy with 2 though atm :)

Yes I agree - good for piece of mind :) hope hes scores come back low :) I'm not sure - she hasn't said, suppose it depends on when the bitch comes into season but I imagine ( and I hope! ) she won't want him until next year.. hes only a baby still :)

Good luck to Cash for his hips and elbows :)
I know I can't believe it! It's not a mandatory sort of requirement currently for the smooth to have hips etc done as generally they're low risk. Eye testing is a must though forthe breed.

Oooh yes I'd def be interested :) Bigby's breeder mentioned she was going to get some for me at her next show but unsure when that will be and I ideally want to start Ringcraft in the next few weeks. His breeder has also informed me that the lady who owns Bigbys dad wants to use Bigby on one of her blue merle bitches. Thank you :) We need to meet up for a walk soon

He's not been too bad thanks, still a little hobby but I just ignore him, then reward when he's quiet.
I may start going beginning of next month and I may do the bronze training with him too. Good luck on 19th

Thats good :) I hope it does as well. Smooth collies are generally a gobby breed, I don't mind the occasional bark but preferably not on walks. He does love to walk around the house though crying because the cat is ignoring him hehe :)

..Only one bark on the whole walk :) So pleased with him and I love my new belt :)

Sorry only just seen your message :) I know what you mean about slacking with training. I've been walking Io and Bigby separately in the evenings and Bigby has been very good if he knows treats are on offer. I walked them in the woods today, Io was off lead and Bigby was on my walking harness and we saw cyclists, horses etc and Bigby was a good boy...
