I'll be teaching the hide command then thanks. If a dog comes running to Buddy you'll see his visually impaired human trying to destract him and usually by the time I see the dog it is already there.

How did you teach the hide. I'm trying to persuade mum to let me get him a muzzle to give myself peace of mind but think she needs to see his reaction to understand how badly he reacts to cocky dogs.

Well you were partly right, it is any cocky dog male or female entire or not that come running up to him all cocky that he has a problem with. He lunged at one today that should have been on a lead as we were near a road. It came running over the road all cocky. Bouncing aroubd, owner came over very slowly and told me to control my dog. Errr listen love my dog wasn't the one offlead out of control yours was. I told her one day her dogs luck will run out if it isn't on a lead. Doesn't matter whether it's a small cocky dog or big cocky dog with Buddy.

Yes it will. That's what I said to them they agreed. He did it in front of them and they were like see every day he does it. I just bent down and gently said Malcom no stop it now and he stopped eventually.

I walked a dog at manchester dogs home yesterday called Malcom. He had a serious humping issue. If he wasn't humping Percy the JRT cross we had with us he was humping thin air. I kept having to gently get him to stop. Told the staff and they were like oh he is a pain for humping. Nice dog but he needs to stop that habit.

I know, they didn't need to step in thankfully but one nurse came to the nurse nearest to us and said we need you, not urgent but we need you so she said well there may be an emergancy to deal with here this lady is choking so I won't leave til she is ok. I heard her.

Me too. Yes very bad, the nurses weren't daft. Their brain told them oh somebody is choking here, get ready to help if needed. Got an annoying tickly dry cough and didn't need that as well.

What happened was I bought a bottle of coke from a machine at the hospital, it gave me one that said share a coke with Buddy on it well I was laughing because the dog is Buddy and that bottle has his name on it. Well outside the hospital I had a drink of it and choked, it had blocked my airways and the nurses weren't moving til they saw that we had sorted the offending drink out. Thankfully we got it out from where it was stuck but I was turning blue, soon got my colour back.

Buddy is neutered. He could well be the same as Bailey. I was informed today by somebody who knows nothing about westies that in their words your dog can't be a full westie he is a jack russel cross labrador. Looks like a westie to me. Think I know the breed of my own dog lol.

Buddy loved all dogs before he was attacked but I jept him on a lead for 2 reasons 1 his recall was bad and 2 not all dogs wish to play. Think Buddy needs an I need space lead or something. One day me and Buddy will run out of luck if he doesn't get better and hurt another dog, we can say no he isn't aggressive but the other dogs owner won't think that.

So do I. Both our boys have issues with certain dogs so they have that in common. I nearly said to the owner of the dogs that attacked Buddy see this mate it is called a lead, you attatch it to dogs collars, you might like to try using the same thing on walks.

We will get through it together. Me, Buddy and you and Bailey. Ok so we haven't met but so what, we are still friends on here. Buddy isn't easy either.

I know how you feel with Bailey. Just when I thought Buddy was getting better with strange dogs today we saw one and he lunged and managed to paw the dog, didn't hurt it but this time I was unable to distract him in time. Thankfully the owner understood when I explained what happened to him, she said well if I were a dog and was attacked I'd probably react like that too.
