Well, datasheets for all vaccines tend to say that brands should not be mixed, but this is simply because companies do not spend money testing their vaccines with those of other companies. Because no tests have been carried out, they are obliged to say 'best not to do this'.

They do say that a decision to mix brands should be on a case-by-case basis, which does suggest that they don't expect too much of a problem. Otherwise I guess they'd say: 'under no circumstances ever should brands be mixed'.

I have mixed vaccine brands before - not Rabies but Lepto in dogs when there were supply problems with Lepto vaccines. Nothing bad happened, but obviously that was a slightly different situation.

If you are worried you can speak to the vet - they can always contact Zoetis (formerly Pfizer) and/or Merial to double check.

It depends on the brand. Nobivac say you can give Nobivac Rabies with other Nobivac vaccines at the same time because they've done the tests and it's ok. They do not recommend giving at the same time as other brands of vaccines as no safety data exist for this combination.

Purevax Rabies can be given on the same day as Purevax vaccines for FHV, FCV and enteritis; but they recommend giving Purevax FeLV 14 days before or after the Purevax Rabies.

      Hope this makes sense. :)

Purevax is generally three year. The first booster must be given one year after the initial vaccination, but after that it's every three years. :) xxx

      Hello hello!

I'm not aware of the reasons behind the suggestion that Rabisin is safer than the 3-year vaccines - there is one study I found that suggested it stimulated better immunity, but one study does not make a fact.

I suspect much of the worry surrounds the use of adjuvants in the rabies vaccines, in which case finding a practice that uses Purevax might be the way forward. The Purevax one is non-adjuvated but lasts three years.

I think a 3-year vaccine will obviously minimise the number of vaccines your cat needs; this is what I would go for but that doesn't mean it's right!

      Shosh xx

When we had boosters last year I mentioned it to my vet and she said there wasn't really any evidence. Cookie did have quite a lot of "injections" during that visit including program 80 and feline leukemia. Last year they both only had a basic booster so no addional "nasty" stuff

Hello, congrats on your new kitty! Well, first of all we kept the kitten in it's own room with no contact with our cat for three days, during which time we scent swapped constantly, then after a week we put the kitten in a dog crate and let them sniff eachother through that, there was a LOT of hissing and growling for the first few days but after about a week it stopped and my kitten actually climbed out and they started playing..so about two weeks overall. It's a lot of hard work and might seem very stressful but you'll get there, and yeah the hissing is totally normal just try to blank it out if you can. My cat is an indoor cat who's had no previous contact with cats and she took to my kitten really well (except for being a bit rough while playing!) Good luck :)

Eu sei que pra cães existe e é fácil de achar. Pra gatos eu mandei a pergunta pra minha amiga pra ver o que ela sugere.

Se eu morasse no Brasil, eu os alimentaria com raw mesmo! E chick feed no lugar cat litter.
