Just noticed this message - shows how often I check it, lol! It's hard to believe that Ollie has come so far - the months have flown past and every time I see Ollie running about happy and pain free, I have a big smile on my face!

Just reading through these messages - coo the 8th August seems long gone now. What a difference six months have made to Ollie's life. Lucky boy he is and a whole new life ahead of him!

Don't need any money, you're welcome. Mine's all done now and i know what hard work you have ahead - keep the sling as long as you want and send it back if it's useable, if it isn't don't worry i have a spare - shh, lol! i'll post it As soon as i get your add.

I don't think I could have coped with sedatives and the last time when Flynn wasn't crated he was on Diazepem as well as ACP, high doses too but he was fine with the first op, just slept most of the time in his crate - well as you have read in his diary, lol.
I was given my sling by Fitzpatrick Referrals but not all vets give them, some say use a towel, you're welcome to borrow Flynns one as I still have it, i'll willingly send it to you if you pm me your address - don't do it in a visitor message though do it in a PM.
I got a 48" crate and extended it by another 24" and it was very comfortable for Flynn - great big oaf that he is, lol.

Sorry to hear about your boy and good luck with his op in five weeks. I believe Flynn dislocated the last time due to lying on the op side and mobilising on his own when the new leg wasn't ready to weight bear - totally different from the previous op when he came home walking perfectly from the off, so I feel a bit responsible for that dislocation. I left it 8 months before having the second one done and so much damage was done to the other hip during that time, so if your boy has to have both done try and have them done within three months or so of each other. My surgeon never does two at once, he said it raises the risk factors. If you have any doubts or want a chat about anything i'll pm you my number. Flynn is like a new dog, was a struggle this time but worth it in the end. Good luck, I know what it's like to see your poor baby not being able to walk - heartbreaking!
