Talking red toed tortoise

im am buying my son two red toed tortoises from someone we know. should they they come with a certificate or anything like that, and can they live without a vivarium?

do you mean red footed?
if so, congrats to your son, they're stunning!
i don't know a huge amount about tort care, these sheets seems to explain housing quite well

also, i don't think you are suposed to keep torts in vivariums because of the poor ventilation, if they are inside they are suposed to be housed on tortoise tables.. but i think these guys need humidity so i'm not sure.. sorry

I have 5 redfoots. you dont get certs with them. You need a big table for the with deep substrait that needs to stay damp.How old is your son as a redfoot is the last thing id ever buy for a child. Thay may not be the hardest tort to care for but thay are not easy and thay do get very big. As adults thay will need a heated outside home and thay will need to be kept warm all yr. My reds have doubled my electric bill Also my last vets bill was £210. Alison

thank you for that can you tell me how long there live and how big there get allso can you not just put them out in the gardon when it is hot like i did when i had a tort years ago
