hi
i have just taken on my friends tortoise as a pet
it's a hermann tortoise with a country of origin as slovenia
it's 3 yrs old and 10cms long
can anyone recommended any good care websites that will help myself and my children with its general care as looking today i have found a few that give me basic care which can be followed but not more presise care
as a first time tortoise owner i think i could do with a bit more than basic care lol

Also may I suggest you take it to a Tortoise specialist vet (not a regular small animal vet as, tortoise specialist vets know there stuff and it is up to date ) and ask for a fecal sample test. For both worms and Protozoa, as these are rife in imported tortoises and the main reason imported tortoise die or become very ill and lethargic

Google The Tortoise Protection Group, you will find all the info you need on there and there should be a recommended vets list, but be warned you may well have to travel.
