Can UVB light damage human sight?

Hi

I've bought a compact UVB lamp (as well as basking lamp) for my new arrival on Sunday and my parents have said that it can damage human eyes. Obviously it's not a good idea to stare at it but is it true?

Thanks

Jo

Re: Can UVB light damage human sight?

Your parents are right, these lights can damage human eyes! The same reason people have to wear goggles in sunbeds! Long term retinal damage can occur or even temporary sun blindness.

As long as you don't stare at the light for any length of time, it should be safe to use for your pet!
