TBH you would be better off going on Terrapin Information UK because there are plenty of experts on there with huge ponds for a forever home, rather than put in a rescue.

the likeyhood of finding someone in the usa in north carolina to take her on there are tiny as it`s mainly a uk based site. poster is in usa.
nothing at all wrong with handing an animal over to a reptile rescue if the owner is struggling , looks like a very nice educational place i gave the link to they are located in exactly the same place as the op. looks like they have done some really good work there.

Good news, we found Ms. Turtle a really good home and will be taking her there on Monday afternoon. Still sad for us but we're glad for her and feel very good and at ease about the place.

Didnt say there was, just ment its alot better to find a proper home because its very rare that a rescue would find her a home, there is alot of people on there from the usa.

Re: 22-yr-old beauty.. please help if you can!!

what would be wrong with a 22 year old turtle spending the rest of it`s life in rescue ? whose care would have been over seen by a herpetologist ? beats being released into a river / lake.
matters not now , she`s found a home which is great news!
