I've hibernated my baby tort for the first time - I was scared to try it last year, he's so tiny, but am a great believer in all things natural and followed the guide given by Freya 'n' Sassy - brilliant, easy to follow advice. He's been in for a week today, took him out quickly to weigh him and he's fine. Feel confident now to do it every year.

Thats great news

Don't worry, things will be fine

I started wind down on boxing day after mine finally showed signs of slowing down. It's the wind down part I hate

Thank you!!! I am glad it has given you the confidence to hibernate your tort. Mine are in the fridge, and have been for a couple of weeks now. I check them every couple of days to make sure no one has urinated and that they are all alive, and to let fresh air in to them. All is well, I weighed them a couple of days ago and they are all the same weight as when they went into the fridge. It won't be long until they are all speeding about looking for food again in March.
