Stupid Question...

I'll probably sound like a right muppet but ..... can you keep tortoises in a hutch?

I don't think you can but my mum says her friend has one outside in a hutch.

thanks for any advice

Re: Stupid Question...

depending on species and what area you live in most tortoises can be kept outdoors during the summer month's .they will require some sort of dry shelter to spend the night in and to be able to escape the worst of any bad weather.you can use a hutch or wooden hut for this but its not correct to confine them to it permanently, and they should be able to come and go from it as they please during the day.a lot of people let them have access to a greenhouse or a coldframe on bricks so they can warm up quickly on dull days.
