Unhappy inactive tortoise

hello

i bought a tortoise a week ago and as the week has gone on he has got less and less active he just sleeps all day hardly moves only to eat .i think his enclosure is to small but its what the pet shop gave me i wont be able to get him a new one for a few weeks is he alright? im worried!

just made him a new terraine somewhere to dig and hide properely he loves it

Really pleased to hear he's doing better now, there's loads of reasons he might have been a little down, settling in might be one of them, especially if he was with other tortoises before he came to you, I bought mine as a pair so they had it a little easier but they still took a week or so to settle in, they're happier with other tortoises so I'm told.....if mine get quiet I usually put them in the bath and they liven up.
