Tetra Recommendations

Hello - having recently begun the mission of restocking our fish tank I wondered if any one can recommend or give me some ideas of smaller shoaling fish to look at. Naturally we're interested in tetras as we kept a small shoal of cardinal tetras before but I wondered what other varieties are available and if there are other small shoaling ones we could perhaps consider. We have 60ltr tank so it's not overly big and it currently has 3 Julii Cory's that call it home. I want to inject some colour into it as well so based one those details so far what would you recommend?

Re: Tetra Recommendations

What about a few neons and a Siamese fighter

When I say a few neons they need to be in groups of 6, Ive currently got three and need some more.

This is my tank.

also Congo frogs are pretty cool - however they are brown so wont inject much colour!

Re: Tetra Recommendations

Lemon Tetra are very nice and more hardy than Neons which sadly only live up to about a year if your are lucky.

A shoal of 6 lemon tetra and 6 Black Neons would be nice, Also Glowlight tetra are very pretty and you'd probably be able to have 6 of them, but not all at the same time in a 60l tank.

With that amount of fish I would look at doing between 30 - 50% water changes per week.

FishlessCycle is on a distinguished road
Re: Tetra Recommendations

Harlequin Rasboras is a small sized peaceful school fish.

You might want to look into them.

Black Phantom Tetra is also nice.

I have both in my planted community tank along with Cardinal Tetra, Corydoras, German Blue Ram, and Gourami.
