    Hello,
We have 2 Yorkshire Terrier dogs aged 5 months (brothers) and both have started to lick their paws, on inspection they both have a raw red/yellowish sore on one back paw inbetween the pads.

Does anybody have any idea what these could be, it seems strange they both have them.

I will add pictures later when I am able to.

    Many thanks,
    Warren

    Hello,
Thanks, we're feeding them Baker's Complete (dry) for puppies.

Bakers is a really poor dog food, full of addictives etc. It could be the cause of the sore paws (an allergy).

Bakers as others have said has been know to cause itcing and skin problems.
There is however something called inter digital cysts that can be caused by trauma, ingrowing hairs, yeast inections a variety of things and then it gets infected with a bacterial infection. If they are infected interdigital cysts then they need specific antibiotics.

Im afraid it really needs a vet look see.

Thanks for the replies, I will change their food regardless (any suggestions?). Here are the pictures but I will probably take them to the vet .

    Looks quite sore.

See here for some ideas of good food, OK food and bad food.

I have a 4 year old Greyhound fed on Skinners Duck and Rice, 15kg is about £21.

Not had a puppy myself, but from what I have read on here, puppy ranges are a bit of a con (ploy to make money). Maybe someone more experienced on foods will confirm or deny this.

when I first read your post I was thinking more of interdidital cysts that occur more between the toes. Its odd that they have them exactly in the same place. I see now it is more the foot rather then inbetween the toes, Its a prime place for infection though. To be honest I would get it looked at sores and cuts on the bottom of the feet can be a devil to heal because of walking and so easily accesible to gnaw and lick.
