Mud fever

    We have a horse with mud fever, he has swelling in his both his hind fetlocks. He has a few scabs very deep in to the skin, his skin is very red and angry and he is in a lot of pain. What do I do?

    Is he a cob type with a lot of feather?

    Is he still being turned out?

    He is a Belgium warmblood x pershrion. He doesn't really have any feathers, he is not being turned out now.
