Just logged in on my computer using Firefox and get a warning when I proceed to type in my username that the PF site is not secure and logging in is at my own risk!? It advises I get in touch with the Admin of the site to put the problem right.
    Hope all is OK?

I've moved this @Soozi as it might get more response to see how big an issue it might be.
I had a similar message earlier on - using Chrome - but I was already logged on. I didn't really take much notice and just went back a page. Everything has been okay since then.

I've never had a message like this on Safari (ipad), but I do remain logged in all the time.

It says on Firefox 11 I think so it might be a new thing but by the search address bar a padlock appears with a red line through it.

Chrome will do a similar thing. It's just warning you that it's not a secure site. In the sense that the info you post on here can be seen by anyone. Which is kind of the point of a messageboard.

That actually makes sense as long as our personal login details are safe.

Isnt it something to do with HTTPS?

Not all websites are secure - its not something to be worried about unless it contains info such a card details or you are making a purchase.

Theres nothing on here that needs to be encrypted.

I would assume so. But it would be good to hear from a mod that they are safe.

I'm not sure that as a mod I'm qualified to say that.

Ah cool. I'm on a forum where the Admin owns the server. But I also run a forum where I would have to pass it on to the server owner. So thanks for confiming it needs the server owner.

Its never been secure. Nor has the BBC website or hardly any media site for that matter. Security is only needed where sensitive information is being transferred.

I use Chrome, that makes it clear on the address bar and has no annoying security pop ups. Firefox used to drive me up the wall with its OTT warnings.

this occasionally happens on another forum I belong to - it is usually an Admin problem where someone hasn't renewed/updated their certificate.
Firefox is particularly well known for being contrary at times ! Using a different browser like Chrome usually solves the problem.
