Re: Corn not eating
As he's now a mature snake, and it's breeding season, it's entirely possible that he has gone off his food for this reason. He's wanting a partner to make babies with. :P
Don't offer him food too often, he will learn to eventually ignore the food as a part of a routine. give him a month to build up a good apptite then try again. Keep the mouse warm so it gives off a stronger scent encouraging the eating response. Mine went off his food for 5 months, he didn't loose any noticable weight and was very eager to eat when he decided he was hungry after all. Good luck! ![]() |

Re: Corn not eating
Hi - I have to agree with cat001. I have kept snakes for over 20 years and every time a young male gets 'that' feeling, he gives up his food (must be a vanity thing lol) and goes on the search of company
I wouldnt worry too much as corns can quite easily go a month without a meat - when he gets hungry, he WILL feed ![]() |

Re: Corn not eating
I`m not an "expert" but I keep twenty snakes at the mo. Six weeks really isn`t that long so try not to worry too much, braining is a good method, squash the rodents head until fluid comes out of its nose,a snake that wasn`t planning on eating usually can`t resist....
