Tienan, my corn snake...

This is the newest addition to my animal family I got her on November 13th (yup, it was a friday. Originally meant to get her the day before but that was the unluckiest day ever!)

I waited a long time for her! Many thanks always to her breeder who was so patient with me! I reserved her in July and it was a long wait with various things happening before I could get down to collect her! In the end though it was worth it and she is everything I could have hoped for! Gave me plenty of time to pick out a name. I chose Tienan (pronounced ty-nan) because it is unisex and means "dark" in Gaelic.

I have waited a very long time to get a snake. I have always wanted a corn snake and of course had to do research, annoy many people with various questions before I finally took the plunge!

She is so sweet. She is still a bit skittish when being picked up (not that I blame her, I would be too if I had a giant hand looming towards me!) but once she is out she is lovely and calm. When I first got her she scared the pants off of me when I put my hand in to change her water and heard this loud rattling noise. Boy can she hiss for a little snake! After overcoming that (I admit that it did make me nervous for a time!) we have been doing very well so far! She is a brilliant feeder. Even taking her pinkie when she was in shed.

Anyhoo, onto the pictures (I warn you in advance I have rather a lot, she is so photogenic!)

My new bracelet...

Hello ya'll!

Answering her fanmail...

Camoflauge!

One of my favourite photos (and proud moments ) watching her constrict for the first time

Gorgeous poser...

I like to call this one "Eying up dessert"

Grumpy...

Gorgeous girlie...

Her in her first "blue" (with me and yup, another proud moment ) on Christmas eve as well.

Her skin on the 27th Dec...

And her freshly shed, looking more beautiful than ever! And starting to develop some lovely yellow colouring along her neck

That's all folks, I hope you enjoyed them

Aww its lovely. DO they come in orange? I went into a reptile shop, and there was one like this, but orange. Also how big do they grow. So cute though.

They come in just about every colour under the sun nowdays I think! Orange ones are the most common though. The orignal corn snake (as in its wild colour) is orange and blacky/browny tones.

They can get to 5ft in length, some have been know to grow bigger. Females are generally smaller than males.

She's so pretty I don't think I've seen her constricting before, very cool.

She is very soft Especially just after a shed. She feels like silk.
