Re: jeff got out today

iv also known of people that have brought ready made vivs from shops with the holes drilled by shop for heat mats being far to big and snakes escaped. We keep all hatchlings in small Faunariums with just the end sat on mat until snake is a bit bigger but a shop wont recomend this as selling you a viv will be better for there pockets.

Re: jeff got out today

A lot of people keep snakes in RUBs (really useful boxes) these days because, despite them not looking fantastic, they are easy to clean, escape proof and allow for all the snakes requirements.

I am dreading getting my corn a bigger viv, where ever the head goes the body follows, heh. And they can really flatten their heads when they want to.

Glad you found his safe and sound!

Re: jeff got out today

I have to agree with these viv locks etc - If a snake escaped it could get anywhere - even outside - and if one turned up in my garden with my dogs or turned up in my house I would have a heart attack and maybe hurt it!!!! I wouldnt harm any animal but if something like that happened I dont know what I would do.
I love to look at snakes as long as they are behind glass - but other than that they scare the living daylights outta me

i probably just left the door open slightly, everyone makes mistakes when they have more animals to feed.

You are no a bad owner so don't think that. We all make mistakes and learn by them

Well perhaps you have to many animals then if thats what your saying is the reson behind your snake getting out.We have a house full and iv not had any thing go missing.Wasnt saying your a bad owner but how would you feel if the snake had not been found? How would neighbours feel about finding it in there house. Please dont tell me that couldnt happen as iv known of some one loosing a 6 foot Burm that turned up next door to him.Yes he was a irresponsible keeper but thankfully the snake was found and didnt get out in wild and end up dead.Your "mistake" could have cost your snake its life. Are you gonna buy a lock or just hope you dont make another mistake.
