the royal in question was very hungry and had been kept with no heat.Bless him, it was my own fault. The second nip was when i was trying to remave a retained eye cap so again probably my own fault.Yes, as a rule royals are placid but when kept incorectly and not eaten any snake can bite.We have large snakes and they quite often eye up the dog.Any large snake should be handled with care and never allowed to be out of viv without 2 people present, reguardless of past behaviour.

I saw a programme about big snakes and saw pics of half swallowed people in the jungle,well gross!!the big uns can manoever jaw around human shoulders!!i hate big snakes they creep me out,i hate the swallowing process it fasinates me and grosses me out at the same time,they are so strong if they decided to get you theres not much you could do about it!!

yeh the thought that a "pet" snake would try and size up its owner to eat just scares me.

prob a slow painfull death, bones crinching and suffocating

I think its plain stupid to allow a creature like that free reign in the house!!imagine waking up to see a huge opened mouth comin your way,or feeling a squeeze!

yeh I know.. imagine if it escaped out of the house! They can go down toilets and come out in somebody elses bathroom if you lived in a flat!

I couldnt even be in the same house as a snake, even if it was in a tank!

the mush down the road my daughta knows has a rock rython, it must be about 16 feet im sure, it is friggin massive and he takes it over the field wen the sun is out...he carrys it there in a massive travel suit case.

He asked my daughta the other day to help him carry it up the stairs coz his wife wernt in...my daughta said she has never felt something so damn heavy in all her life.
