Can someone help me with corn snake's.

My son has just got his first today. Does he put the rock for him to hide in? where the heatpad is, or the otherside of the tank, Can someone let me no asap. thankyou

really it doesnt make much difference. most snakes will go where they feel comfortable (hot side/cold side) i would place it preferable in the middle of each side if poss, if not then on the hot side

You can put it over the heat mat if you want, however there must also be another hiding place in the cool end.
Instinctively they love to be in dark places hidden away, but if they only hide is in the warm end, then that's going to be too warm for it all the time, likewise with the cool end, so provide two so he can choose.

I presume you have your heat mat on a mat stat to stop it over heating?
