Boa constrictors

Sorry if the title is spelt wrong i know absolutely nothing about snakes whatsoever, so let me explain a friend was telling me a story last week about a friend of hers. who owns one of these snakes and ime not sure if she's been had with this story. She was told that her friends snake has the run of the house at times and had stopped eating after i cant remember how long but long enough for her to be worried saw a vet who said there was nothing wrong. but the snake still not eat anything the snake was staying in her room and one morning she woke up with the snake in her bed stretched out and stiff, thinking the worst she rang the vet who said to her to get out of the room emmediatly and was not to go back in until he got there as the snake had been starving itself and had laid stretched out sizing her up to be eaten.
Is this true? does this or can this happen?

Re: Boa constrictors

i have heard this story many of times. i had 2 12ft burmese pythons who used to roam my house. i have woke up a number of times and the snakes has been in my bed. they go to where the warmes place is for them as they are cold blooded reptiles. my female was not eatin for a while untill i took her to the vets only to realise that she was preganent(soz if spelt wrong). i would get a tank to put the boa in for the night time so ur friend doesnt get any more frights. it the best place as snakes are nocturnal. im sorry if this sounds gobbily gook but have had a long day.

Re: Boa constrictors

Yes, it's an urban legend. Boas aren't big enough to even consider eating peole, and if snakes had to 'measure up' their prey before eating it in the wild, they'd starve to death!

Re: Boa constrictors

Snakes Have Very Very Rarely Tried To Eat People. They Wouldnt Size U Up Lol. Some People Must Believe Every Thing They Hear Lol. There Is Only 1 Time I Have Evey Heard About This And It Was A 27ft Reticulated Python. These Snakes Have A Very Bad Reputation, As People Actually Balieve They Grow Over 30ft Which Is Not That True. The Biggest Snake I Have Ever Seen Is A 24ft Reticulated Python And Is Was Puppy Tame. A Snake Could Not Get Its Jaws Around A Mans Shoulders. I Wouldnt Believe This Myth At All.
