Re: is my ball pthon ok???

ive never known any of mine to although i dont have a ball, Could she/he have Mouth rot?

Heres some info on it
Mouth Rot (Infectious Stomatitis, Ulcerative Stomatitis)

will she let you look in her mouth? I might be worth taking her to a vet to take swaps and treat her

Re: is my ball pthon ok???

Well she's been to the vets this morning and we have to syringe antibiotics into her mouth and swab her with antibacterial type solution twice a day, the vet did the first one for us but we just had to do the next one!!

I had to hold her still near her neck while my boyfriend opened her mouth and administered the medicine. Gotta give the girl credit, she can wriggle when she wants too!! I was scared incase she tried to bite but we kept her out for half hour afterwards and she seems ok and not too annoyed with us!!

The medication and vets charges cost £17 so not too expensive at all, hopefully it works and we remain bite free!!! XX

Re: is my ball pthon ok???

Well she seems to be doing really well, only one more dose of antibiotics to go tonight and then we'll just have to keep an eye on her!!

Fed her 2 small mice this week and she ate them no trouble which makes me think she is better or she would be wary of eating i think!! XX

Re: is my ball pthon ok???

well done for getting her to the vet (so many don't bother).

One thing to think about would be the cause of the Respiratory Infection.

With Royals it's normally when the humidity is too high (over 50%), maybe check with a hygrometer what levels you are at in her tank.

Hope she is all better
