how do i get my snakes viv temps up asap they have dropped reli low am rather worried
hey all my gas ran out last night and my flat went rather cold well i checked my snakes tank temps today and im gettin worried they are slowly gettin lower and lower atm his humidity is 40 and the cool side temp is 60 when it was about 70 before and the humid was 50 i no those temps are still a little low tho. ive put my emergency on my gas hoping if i got my flat re warm his temps will suddenly go up in his tank.
i need 2 get a few things and upload pics on here for more help 2do with his tank but atm i need urgent advice as i dont want it to go any lower. is turning my gas on quite high a good move atm. i think his temps dropped because my house is normaly quite warm and last night it went freazing plus i never have my gas turned off so could that be a result. if i put a blanket over the air holes at the top at the back will that keep heat in to help boost it or will that just suffocate him ??
he has got a heat mat on in his tank on the back pannel and a red heat lamp that are enver turned off but i dont think they are enough 2bh his temps have never been past 70 on cool side and 50 on humidity i cant tell the hot side as i havent got a temperature thing on that side could i put one on that side and get a acurate reading? i will be going to my reptile shop on monday and getin as much advice as i can cause they aint open on the weekend so ive got to cope untill then. any advice on how to keep the temps up will be brill. i changed his water earliar so he has fresh water and im not going to change it untill monday untill ive got answers is this wise? im worried if i open the tank i might let heat out? please advice is needed
