lost cornsnake!

PLZ,PLZ,PLZ i need ur help. Ive had a cornsnake for like 2 months and shes gone missing because i was such a dozer and forgot that she was out of her vivarium and she disappeared. We turned the house upside down trying to look for her but we just cant find her i love her so much and i cant bear to be parted with her. We looked everywhere, but we think she has gone down this hole in our pan cupboard that leads around the back of all our cupboards, but we cant tell because we can only see the hole. What can i do? pLZ anyone give me a good suggestion on how to get her found again, my mum and i have cried lots even though she only disappeared yesterday. She could be in any room in the house will she come out when shes hungry? Thanx.

i`d get a strong torch and look in every single nook and cranny! she will be somewhere warm i`d be inspecting every corner of the house very closely however unlikely you may find it , backs of sofa`s inside sofa`s etc!! pull draws completely out of cupboards.
and lastly if you do happen to find her , please don`t allow her to do this again i`ve had snakes for years and never had one escape . you may find her today , tomorrow or the day after but the likely hood is you may not find her for months!

If she has does that mean that i will never see her again? :'( but if she is hungery will she come out or not? i feed her once a week so will she expect food? Also if she did go outside will she comeback for food and will she remember where we live and where she gets food? Thanx for all ur help

she may well have made it outside may be worth getting some flyers put up in your area just incase she has , you need to make people aware that she`s harmless should they find her! it`s not worth leaving food out , they don`t think like cats , dogs or rodents , snakes have no loyalty towards you and i would think she`d be hunting for just about anything available to her should she get hungry. snakes can survive for months without food so i`d just be concentrating on getting her found a.s.a.p

Re: lost cornsnake!

You could also try leaving flour round the edge of rooms to see if you see any snake tracks in em. Or plastic bags taped to the floor so you hear em rustle if the snake moves over them. I've had success with putting a food item in a bottle that will fit the snake into it without having fed, then if it gets into the bottle and eats the mouse, it'll be too fat to get out. If you place the bottle on a heat mat it'll warm up the item and spread the scent further too. have had a few escapees but normally only tiny babies that have squeezed out of gaps they shouldn't be able to...

Re: lost cornsnake!

Cover you heat mat with a towel and leave overnight in a dark corner in the room where he/she escaped.

If there are any other heated areas, such as central heating pipes etc. Put tea towels in a fashion so the little thing can hid in amongst.

As they are usually active at night check each morning.

Good luck.

Pam
