we've had corn snakes for few years now and they have never been to a vet.
they main thing you must look out for are mite's but if you get one from a good place then you shouldnt have any problems. just keep them clean and fed and away you go.

Corn snakes and Ball pythons. The best beginner snakes. Get a yearling thats eating good. They are relitively inexpensive and heathy. Get a GOOD cage/glass tank. Heating "PAD" made for reptiles. Test it. If you can't hold your hand on it for 1-2 minutes without it burning you take it back. Plenty of water! Good luck!
