lost corn snake

hi,
3 days ago i lost my corn snake she is fully mature about 4 ft long, maybe 4.5 ft long. i keep it in a viv and the doors locked with a wedge, i came in one afternoon to find the wedge on the floor and the snake gone i can only presume the cat knocked the wedge out !! i have looked everywhere for it but i do have lots of gaps in the floorboards so she could have gone under there, i have set traps such as flour and placing chicks and mice on the floor but to no avail she has not come out or seen her! surely i cannot miss a 4ft snake around the house, im getting quite worried now as she has not eaten for 3 weeks now, any ideas how to get her back? ive looked at bottle traps but think they maybe a bit small for her !
help !!!
ps i do have a parrot should i be worried about his safety????
sharon

Re: lost corn snake

Not sure how to get her back but just for a bit of hope - my friend lost his over the winter for 6 months....and suddenly there she was one day safe and sound in a warm draw

Good luck

Talking Re: lost corn snake

I have a five foot corn snake too and boy can she move. I have never lost her i must admit even though she got out of the vent once and thumped onto the floor and slid at a hell of a speed away but i caught her just in time. My mate who breeds them is always "loosing" his but they always seam to turn up especialy when hungrey.
You must realise that a corn snake can live up to a year without food so I would not panick too much.
When you do find her pet a sliding key lock on the viv. That stops mine.

Re: lost corn snake

I lost my cornsnake once, had hell of a job finding her ! You think that a cornsnake will stay somewhere warm ?
-They wont !

They will be somewhere where they find secure, Mine was in the corner of the room under a loose bit of carpet. Search for it before it gets out of the house.

You'll also be surprised what they can squeeze themselves into.

Good luck !
