Caraloise is on a distinguished road
Corn Snake Vivarium Size

I am looking at adopting a Corn Snake from the SSPCA. I already own a Yemen Chameleon and a Chilean Rose Tarantula so have experience with exotics.

I'm looking on advice for the best size of Viv to get though as I've read alot of conflicting advice. The snake is a male around 3-4 ft in length, would a 3ft viv be enough or should I go larger. I have contacted the SSPCA and they said they would be satisfied with the 3ft but I'd like a more expert opinion to make sure I'm giving him the best new home.

Thanks

Re: Corn Snake Vivarium Size

I had 2 corns during my teens.
A snake should be able to stretch out fully to make it truly comfortable, too little room and they've been known to eat their own tails!

Get a 4ft minimum if you want it to be happy.

Re: Corn Snake Vivarium Size

Most people go for 3ft. I thought the general rule was viv should be at least 2/3s the full length of the snake (provided its not a very active one)??
As long as they have lots of hides and cover then they are happy.

3ft will do, but 4ft is better
