Hi Everyone,
I could do with some advice. I have 2 corn they are about 5 years old now and 4.5 feet long max. One is bigger than the other and has never gone off it's food, whereas the other will go off food for a good 3-4 months each year around this time. it's still in good condition though so I'm not concerned. I think it is just mating season changes?
My question is about the larger one, I changed their viv a week ago. When I changed them the larger one was starting to slough - the skin had gone pearlescent. I would have waited to change viv's until it had finished, but the last one caught on fire so I didn't have a choice!

When I took them out of the old viv the big snake was actually in the water bowl, I've never seen this one do this before, although my other one can when it is sloughing. I took it out of the bowl and out it in the viv.
Over the next 4 days it's skin turned almost completely white so that you could barely see the colour underneath (it is an Amel). For the last 2 days the whiteness has faded. I thought that this was a good thing as this is what usually happens before it sheds. Right now it is normal for a snake that hasn't and isn't about to slough.
I don't know what to do. it has also been very inactive. my shy little one has been exploring and the Amel hasn't moved from hiding under some leaves.
What should I do? Does this happen? Is it to do with changing the environment? Shall I put it in some warm water to try and start the slough?
...the snakes weren't in the viv when it set on fire by the way. I had just put all the substrate in after cleaning it, which was very lucky!
Any advice would be great.
Thank you.
