Snake shedding query

right, i went to feed my corn snake about 3-4 days ago, but when i went to his viv he was very dull and his eyes were glazed over as they do when he's close to shedding. its about the right time for him to do so since his last shed, so nothing abnormal about that..

the odd thing was though, i went to his viv today and he has returned to normal bold colours, his eyes are normal colours also but no shedded skin

just wondered if this was normal or if they may have been any reason for it?

cheers

It's normal, once it's eyes have cleared it will shed within the next two days

Re: Snake shedding query

You probably know but always check the shed skin to make sure the eye caps have come off. They can sometimes stay on the eye and build up in layers

Re: Snake shedding query

yeah i always check the skin afterwards. sounds odd but even after having him 10-11 years or so the skin-shedding still fascinates me! especially looking at the head-end of the shedded skin. I always hope for a full one so i can measure him properly. easily 5 1/2 foot now, think that's the biggest he'll go now though

how long do corns normally live for (when looked after properly) ?

Re: Snake shedding query

He is gorgeous! I wish I could find a 5 and a half foot cornsnake, I'm dying to have a "whopper" cornsnake here. My adult female is about 4.5ft. I have a cornsnake (my first) called George too, he's shedding at the minute. Wonder if he's significantly bigger this time - he only shed a month ago.
