Finding somewhere to keep them where they are safe from the cats and dogs but not so out the way that we never see them.

i was worried about the cats too ... but seems to be ok now.
Maybe one day u will find the right space for one

Well judging by the way the cats bully the poor ole guinea pigs I don't think it would be wise to have any really small furries about until we redecorate and have something custom built so the cats can't get anywhere near them!

Ok, I changed their cage today a little bit.
Was unhappy with the wood shavings as u couldnt see the gerbils at all anymore, they just made a mess. So went and got peat which is fantastic!
The cage looks so much nicer and the gerbils cant stop didgging and building So fun to watch them beeing busy all day Im so glad i changed the wood shavings Tomorrow i might get them some sand for bathing as they would enjoy it i think.

yes, they do. Its amazing what they built since this afternoon. A big massive mountain in the middle and loads of tunnels lol
I put the cage now in the living room to introduce them slowly to the cats and at night time i put the cage in the other bedroom for safety i hope after a couple of weeks they will be fine with them.
They really go mad with the peat
