My 3 New Piggies I Got Today

Saw the advert in the vets for a home for 2 neutered males and a female so of course I had to have them! It's mum, dad and son. Was an accidental pregnancy when the owners went on holiday because the people watching them didn't listen when they said don't put the male and female together! Going a trip to the vets tomorrow because I'm 99% sure they have mites!

This is Coral the son

And Tugo (the dad) and Panda (the mum, also her sons double!)

Once the mites are sorted out will be rearanging my lot and hopefully put Tugo and Panda in with my other 2 girls and Coral in with the other 2 boys

Aww they are gorgeous and well done for rescuing them.

You can buy the mite stuff online now. It's around £16 for 6 treatments. It's called Xeno and vetuk does it and also quick delivery.

Re: My 3 New Piggies I Got Today

Lovely but please be aware that even two neutered male pigs will fight to the very death if a female is in the same hutch. Someone has been lucky so far but generalkly when males mature they cannot be kept together in the same hutch as females, even if they are neutered. This could be one of those rare one-offs of course but generally cavy people keep one neutered male at a time with females only.

The 2 males don't live with the female. Just the dad does. Coral is going in with my girls once he has the all clear. I've kept 4 males together before without any problems and they lived right next to 2 girls. Now I've only got 2 because the other 3 died. Would love 4 males together again but no point in Tugo and Coral not living with girls when they can.

Cut their nails today and they were criss crossed and some were even curling and digging into their feet Never thought about getting the mite stuff online! Wanted them vet checked anyway just to make sure everything is fine plus the vet wants to keep an eye on Panda's stomach because she could be preg or have a tumour.

Hiya Ann, He's doing fine now thanks, he's actually getting the use of his back legs back. He's a bit wobbly but he's definitely on them again which is fantastic because it's about the fourth or fifth time he's lost them.
