Ewww that is one of my pet hates!  Overgrown piggy nails! I have had pigs here whose nails were so overgrown when I got them that they had deformed toes from not being able to walk properly! I have had up to 35 pigs when I kept them for showing and regularly checked nails every time I cleaned out so that none became overgrown. But some show breeders keep so many (most of them at least twice as many as me) that they either didn't bother or forgot to check! I kept my stud small and select though and still bred 4 Champions.  Now I only have 14 and they are being spoilt to death! |
