Re: My Rabbits

what are your reasons for wanting to show?
to show an animal in any class other then pet classes they need to still be intact, which isnt really good for rabbits as they have such high hormone levels, does especially are at a really high risk of developing uterine cancer, 80% of all does develop it by the age of 4 - 5

rabbits also tend to be past their showing prime by 1 - 2 years old, the younger ones do much better on the show table

Re: My Rabbits

I would only be showing as a hobby, but at the minute it's not a definate for showing, I just want to find more information out and decide later. Won't be showing any of my current rabbits unless it's in the pet classes.

Re: My Rabbits

best step is probably to find a show breeder who is near enough to you to show you the ropes, and then decide what breed you are wanting to show, and find a good breeder of them

what about training one of your current rabbits to jump though? they would probably enjoy that much more then the show bench, and its a great way to bond

Re: My Rabbits

I've never really heard much about learning a rabbit to jump. I didn't even know you could do it until a few weeks ago. In the 7 years I've owned rabbits I have never come accross it.

depends what their parents were

manes are expressed in 3 ways
no mane mm
single Mm
double MM

Mm x Mm = 25% mm 35% Mm 50% MM
MM x Mm = 50% MM 50% Mm
Mm x mm = 50% Mm 50% mm
MM x mm = 100% Mm

so it depends what their parents were
