Thing is we dont either... he'd always been feisty and stuff... but on that night.... he just... flipped.... tried to rip me to pieces and wouldn't let anyone go near him..... had a job on trying to get someone to come out to help catch him cause he would have destroyed us. Had to lock him in the living room/dining room. We've been having money worries and problems galore for a couple years. So weren't wanting to turn to an off-time vet as some places we were ringing were saying it was going to be like £500 or something ridiculous just to get them out, then treatment! We tried the RSPCA loads, they said it was our cat so our problem. I said "so you expect us to go in and get hurt cause he was as dangerous as a dog at this moment and we had nothing to protect ourselves with." And they said that they couldn't get anyone to come to help us incase they were hurt as ALL RSPCA officers were volunteers (LIES!!!) even tho they would have padding, gloves, proper uniform, traps, catch poles etc etc etc! We finally gave in and asked if they could atleast give us something so WE could catch them and they agreed and said they would get a trap to us... we asked when they would be (considering we were locked out of the rooms on the landing and a computer was on inside the room) able to get it to us... and they said in 2 days....... hate.
Eventually we got our vet out (night time) and they finally caught him. They said they handle feral cats nicer than him... and we had to pay over £100 to put our cat down... I watched as the life left him... he had to be sedated twice (overdose) to calm him down he was that scared/vicious...
The vet said he might have suffered neurological damage which can cause them to flip. We decided against tests incase he never calmed... he was obviously terrified by something... and we didnt want him to suffer further... poor boy.
The whole thing was like something out of the grudge..
