Re: New ratties
Its hard when that happens. Binky is 3 months old and much smaller then my other 3 month boys. The trio are 4 months old and half the size of my 5 month old boys My hat off to Furry Friends for how many came into them (missexing and Mum left in with her sons to get pregnant again) and Emma's obviously done a lot of work with them thus far otherwise I would have expected them to be much worse.
The only boy we've had here who remained highly strung til the end was Errol, who was a wierd boy all round anyway. Neutering did a lot to calm him down, and Nijel does resemble him in some of his behaviour (except that he has fur). But I'm determined to remain optimistic. I found some of the rescue lads become sociable to a point but there's stuff we can't do with them that we can do with the others. I always respect a rats tolerance levels when its clear they'll tame no further then that. These guys are still young so there's hope
