I am looking to get mice or gerbils, and was thinking of making a bin cage, however I think that gerbils would be able to get out real easy.

Does anyone have a cage/tank suitable for sale, from free or under £20?

Have you looked/advertised on freecycle? There are usually plenty of tanks available on there and they are all free.

There will be a few freecycle groups in your local area, you can join them all if you want, its basically a recycling site, you join them and if you have any items you no longer need and are willing to give away you advertise it on the site and people who want it reply to you, you choose who you want to have the item and arrange for them to collect it, on the other side if you are after a particular item you can also advertise that you want that item and people who have one spare will contact you and offer it to you, you then collect it from them. Its all free and saves perfectly usable items from ending up in landfill.
