Unless your boy is from known lines, from a good breeder and you know his genetics and any health issues he may be carrying, I really would not advise breeding from him.
cluedo and princesslea like this.

Re: Dumbo Rat Breeders?

You may find that there will be quite a wait for kittens, and that most breeders do not have them ready to leave all the time

Red face Re: Dumbo Rat Breeders?

I have 3 lovely dumbo rats.
One albino, one light grey and white and a little fatty who is dark grey and shite patches and has rex fur.

We got ours from a pet shop in Huyton in Liverpool.

Our white dumbo rat, Jon Claude Van Stephens, has the sweetest temperment and the other two arr a bit more of a hand full and like to adventure but they are all from the same breeding group and they are all great.

Please go and get some from there, I hate going to the shop and not being able to take them all home!

Also I am looking for a good rat vet in liverpool.

I've been going to the PDSA but they don't really know much about rats and they have been giving them the same antibiotics for about 7 weeks in total (1 week 2weeks and 4 weeks) for a respiritory infection but they are still sneezing.

Does anyone have advice on which medicines have worked best for them?

Re: Dumbo Rat Breeders?

My pet shop rat (i did actual get him because of his problems i'll add) has to have Baytril and ronaxan together to get him feeling better. But sadly hes felt with scaring on his lungs so he always rattles abit and costs me £30 every 2-3 months on treatment
